Privacy Policy: We Don't Sell Your Data
We collect very little. We sell nothing. We hate spam as much as you do. Here's exactly what happens when you visit YEET Magazine — in plain English, not lawyer-ese.
Last Updated: June 3, 2026 | Effective: June 3, 2026

YEET Magazine ("we," "us," or "our") is a digital publication based in the United States. We write about smart gadgets and tech news. We do not write privacy policies for a living. But we also believe you deserve to know exactly what data we collect from you, why we collect it, and who gets to see it. Spoiler alert: Not many people. We don't sell your email address. We don't sell your browsing history. We don't even know your name unless you tell us.

The TL;DR Version (Because You Have Better Things To Do)

✅ We collect basic analytics (what pages you visit, roughly where you are).
✅ We use cookies to keep the site working and to show you relevant ads.
✅ We DO NOT sell your personal data to anyone. Ever.
✅ We DO NOT send spam or share your email with third parties.
✅ You can opt out of everything except essential cookies.

What Data We Collect

We collect two types of data: (1) stuff your browser automatically tells us, and (2) stuff you voluntarily give us. That's it.

Automatic Information (Analytics & Logs)

When you visit YEET Magazine, our servers automatically record certain information. This includes your IP address (general location only, not your home address), browser type and version, operating system, referring website, pages you visit, time and date of visit, and time spent on each page. We use this to understand what articles are popular, where our readers come from, and whether the site is loading properly. We cannot identify you personally from this data — it's aggregated and anonymized after 30 days.

Information You Give Us (Newsletter & Comments)

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. That's it. We don't ask for your name, your birthday, your shoe size, or your mother's maiden name. If you leave a comment on an article (when comments are enabled), we collect your name (or whatever name you type in) and your comment. We also collect your IP address when you comment to help us block spam and trolls. We do not share your email address with anyone. We do not sell it. We do not trade it for favors. We hate spam as much as you do.

The Newsletter Promise You will receive emails when we publish new articles or have important updates. That's it. We send at most 4-6 emails per month. You can unsubscribe with one click at the bottom of any email. We will not spam you. We will not sell your address. If we ever change this, you will receive a very angry email from our legal team and then you can unsubscribe.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Yes, we use cookies. No, not the delicious kind. Cookies are small text files that websites put on your device to remember things. We use three types:

  • Essential cookies: These make the website work. Without them, pages wouldn't load, logins wouldn't work, and you'd have a bad time. You cannot opt out of these unless you stop using the site entirely.
  • Analytics cookies: These help us understand how people use the site. We use Google Analytics (see below). You can opt out of these.
  • Advertising cookies: These help us show you ads that are relevant instead of random garbage. We use Google AdSense (see below). You can opt out of these.

Most browsers allow you to block cookies or delete existing ones. Instructions vary by browser, but you can usually find these settings under "Privacy" or "Security" in your browser menu. If you block all cookies, the site will still work — but some features may be wonky and you'll see less relevant ads.

Third-Party Services We Use

We use a handful of third-party services to keep the lights on and the content free. Here's who they are and what they do:

Google Analytics (Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site, which articles they read, how long they stay, and where they come from. Google Analytics collects your IP address (anonymized), browser type, device type, and approximate location (city level at most). Google processes this data according to their own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

Google AdSense (Advertising)

We use Google AdSense to show ads on YEET Magazine. This is how we pay our writers and buy products for testing. Google AdSense uses cookies to show you ads that are relevant to your interests. It may collect information about your visits to this site and other sites to personalize ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.

Ghost (Hosting Platform)

YEET Magazine is hosted on the Ghost platform. Ghost handles our servers, security, and basic infrastructure. They process data according to their own privacy policy and comply with GDPR and CCPA requirements. Ghost does not sell your data either.

ConvertKit (Newsletter Service)

We use ConvertKit to manage our email newsletter. When you subscribe, your email address is stored in ConvertKit's systems. They do not sell your data. They do not spam you. They comply with all major privacy regulations. You can read ConvertKit's privacy policy here.

Disclosure: Affiliate Links

Some articles on YEET Magazine contain affiliate links. That means if you click a link and buy something, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This helps us buy more products to test and pay our writers. We only use affiliate links for products we have tested and genuinely recommend. Our editorial decisions are never influenced by affiliate potential. If a product is garbage, we say it's garbage, even if we could make money from it.

Your Privacy Rights (CCPA, GDPR, and Other Acronyms)

Depending on where you live, you have certain rights regarding your personal data. YEET Magazine respects these rights regardless of whether the law requires it. Here's what you can ask us to do:

  • Access: Tell us what data we have about you.
  • Deletion: Delete your personal data (email address, comment history).
  • Correction: Fix any incorrect data we have.
  • Portability: Give you a copy of your data in a readable format.
  • Opt-Out: Stop processing your data for analytics or advertising.

California residents (CCPA): We do not sell your personal information. We have not sold any personal information in the past 12 months. We do not have any plans to start. You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information — but since we don't sell it, there's nothing to opt out of.

EU residents (GDPR): We process your data based on legitimate interest (analytics to improve the site) and consent (newsletter subscriptions). You have the right to withdraw consent at any time. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — but please email us first so we can fix whatever went wrong.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@yeetmagazine.com. We will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you a fee unless your request is excessive or repetitive. We will not ask you for a blood sample or a notarized affidavit — but we may ask you to verify your identity before deleting data, because otherwise anyone could delete anyone else's comments.

Data Security

We take security seriously because we don't want your data stolen either. We use HTTPS encryption on every page. Our hosting provider maintains industry-standard security measures. Our newsletter provider uses encryption and secure servers. That said, no system is 100% secure. The internet is a scary place. We do the best we can, but we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we experience a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours (if we have your email address) and publish a notice on this site.

Children's Privacy

YEET Magazine is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, contact us immediately and we will delete it. (That said, if a 12-year-old is reading our smart gadget reviews, honestly, good for them — but they should still ask a parent before sharing email addresses.)

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes — meaning changes that affect your rights or how we handle your data — we will notify you by posting a notice on the site and sending an email to newsletter subscribers. We will also update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We won't sneak changes past you. That's not how we operate.

Questions? Concerns? Want to Yell at Someone? If you have any questions about this privacy policy, your data, or anything else privacy-related, email our Data Protection Officer (which is just a fancy title for "the person who answers these emails") at privacy@yeetmagazine.com. We respond to every email. Real humans only. No chatbots.

Summary, in even simpler terms: We don't want your data. We don't need your data. We collect the bare minimum to run the website and send the newsletter. We use ads to pay the bills. We don't sell anything to anyone. You are not the product. The articles are the product. Now go read something interesting and stop worrying about privacy policies.
